Restored

In the beginning God created man.
An intimate relationship He wanted to have.

The serpent came with a question, asking Eve,
“Did God say of every tree you shall not eat?”

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food
Eve thought she would be wise and so she chewed.

She gave it to her husband and he did also eat
Then their eyes were opened and they became afraid.

Sin now entered in because of disobedience,
Man was separate from God and lived under the curse.

An offering was needed to cleanse us from our sin,
A curtain was set-up to divide God and man.

Because God is who He says He is, He always had a plan
It was to redeem His people with His one and only Son, a man.

Now it was time for Jesus to come on the scene
By the power of the Holy Spirit, Mary would conceive.

Jesus was a student and dug into the Word
He went to John to be baptized for this is good.

He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove
Alighting Him, a voice then said, “This is my beloved Son”.

Then Jesus was led up to the wilderness by the Spirit of God
He fasted forty days and nights and was hungry for food.

The tempter came and tested Him knowing Jesus was the King
So then Jesus used the Word of God for fighting

From that time Jesus preached and showed us the way
He said, seek first the Kingdom of God each and every day.

Now Jesus asking His disciples, Who do men say that I am?
You are the Christ, the Son of God, this did not come by man.

My Father who is in heaven, has revealed this you,
On this rock I’ll build My church, for I am the Truth.

It was time for Jesus to ride in as prophecies told
The disciples brought him a donkey and a colt.

The multitudes began to cry, “Hosanna in the highest!”
The woman poured costly oil on the body of Jesus .

When the Passover feast had come, Jesus said to Judas,
“You’re going to betray Me. For you must do this.”

Jesus was put on trial because He called Himself the King,
This was unacceptable and now the crucifixion.

They divided Jesus’ clothes and casting lots they knew
It must be written on the cross “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS!”

Jesus cried with a loud voice and said, “It is finished!”
The veil then tore, sin was gone and now we’re not separate.

The earth quaked, the rocks split and suddenly they knew,
Truly this was the Son of God and they laid Him in a tomb.

But that wasn’t it, the work just began and three days later,
An angel of the Lord descended from heaven and shared something greater.

“Do not be afraid for I know whom you seek, Jesus is not here,
For He is risen where He once lay and to you, He will appear!”.

Mary stood outside the tomb with fear and weeping.
Then suddenly Jesus appeared asking “Whom are you seeking?”

She thought it to be a gardener, then Jesus said, “Mary!”
He said, Go tell My brethren for I soon am ascending.

The eleven disciples shut the door for fear of the Jews,
Jesus stood in the midst of them and said, “Peace be with you.

As the Father has sent Me, so now I also send you.
Receive the Holy Spirit and forgive as I do.

Now go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
He who believes and is baptized will not be condemned.

And these signs will follow those who believe,
They’ll cast out demons and no harm will come to them if they drink anything deadly.

They’ll speak with new tongues and take up serpents.
Lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed,
You have life in Jesus name for now you are saved.
