We are all sowers and reapers
“The sower sows the word.” Mark 4:14 NKJV
One of THE most important seeds any one of us could ever sow is the Word of God. The Word of God is transformative and powerful in its nature, designed to bring life and love, correction and discipline. Cultivating the soil of your heart is important so that the Word of God can grow out of you, more and more!
“And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” Mark 4:15-20 NKJV

Your heart condition matters
To a farmer or gardener, soil conditions matter, along with the exposure to all the other elements (air, water and heat). Each of us is a farmer and the same thing applies to us; our heart-soil conditions matter.
Examining your heart is a priority because we are all affected by what goes on around us and to us. The Word of God is a seed which is designed to be deposited in our hearts, mixed with faith. Believing God at His Word and trusting in Him, makes what He says a higher reality than what we are seeing with our natural eyes.
So then, YOU are a farmer, too, planting the Word of God in your heart. As you feed and water your heart with God’s Word protetcing the seed with prayer, and praise and worship, there will be a harvest!
As we rejoice in the season we’re entering into, cultivating a heart of thankfulness to God is important. So I’ve put together a “Give Thanks” banner as a reminder to keep our gaze set on the Lord as we give Him thanks in all things.
“GIVE THANKS” BANNER {FREE PRINTABLE}
I love to share the things I create for our family with you! So I have a FREE “Give Thanks” banner that’s printable and available to download below.

How to print and display your “Give Thanks” Banner
- Print the banner single-sided using white cardstock paper.
- Cut along the faint grey lines on each paper.
- If you prefer a matte finish, the letters are ready for the hole-punch. But, if you prefer a glossy finish or durability, putting the printed sheets through a laminating machine like this using these laminating sheets will do just that!
- Take a hand-held hole-punch to create two holes – one at the top left and one at the top right corner of each letter.
- Use jute twine pushing it down under at the left top hole and pushing it up and through the right top hole.
- String the rest of the letters in this same pattern.
- You can choose to have the letters on one long jute string with the leaf in the middle as your spacing (included in the printable), or form it on two lines like I did below.
