Planning our homeschool curriculum is one of my most favourite things to do. With that, I’m thrilled to reveal and share with you our 2020-2021 grade 2 homeschool curriculum picks!

FIRST THINGS FIRST… it’s important that you know I have two children – one in grade 2 and one in grade 4.

The reason that this is important for you to know is that in some of my homeschool curriculum picks, I’ve involved curriculum where both my kids will participate in the same content. I’ve learned that where you can condense curriulum, you should.

The subjects my kids will have the same curriculum is in Bible, character, science, social studies, read-alouds, poetry, and art. My children will participate in the content of these subjects and from there, I will give them work based on their skill level.

Avoiding undue pressure and stress is the key for us all.

And now, here’s the reveal…

Homeschool Planning

Now from here, I’ve been putting my curriculum into a plan by using my Google Sheets Homeschool Planner. But, it doesn’t stop there.

The Google Sheet Homeschool Planner just gives me an overview of how everything will work together. The plan is not actually what we do; it’s a guide or map if you will giving me an idea of how it’ll come together.

From here, I record what we actually do in our homeschool in an empty lesson planner. Some call this concept planning-from-behind, some call it reverse planning. Either way, recording what we do (and not following the plan) creates the most restful way of homeschooling that I’ve found.

I’d love to hear if you have any of the same picks for your homeschool. Let me know in the comments below!
